New Album Now Available!

"Next Train Home"

I drove down to L.A. to record an album at Exposition Studios with Producer Chad McKinsey.  Chad is a Huntley Project and MSU Billings Graduate and has been living in L.A. working at this studio for 10 years now. We grew up together and went to elementary through College together. He is a huge part of making this happen and played drums on all of the tracks as well as recorded, mixed, mastered and produced this album. His creative mind and positive criticism and encouragement are a huge part of this album.

I started a Kickstarter before I left to help with pay for his services and the help of many others who were a part of this album and I am overwhelmed with the donations and support I received! My goal was $5,500 and I ended up with a total donation of $6,186!!!!!!!!! I am so incredibly lucky to have the support of this community and my family! I have been given places to stay while I am touring and countless encouraging messages from friends, family and fans alike. There are no words to express how truly grateful I am to be a part of this community and to have the chance to live my dream.

My journey as a songwriter and musician has taken many turns. From the beginning singing my songs at open mics and full moon nights at Mackenzie River Pizza to the Jaded Ladies Band and now as a solo musician. I have been blessed to play with so many different talented musicians and singers and it has made me who I am today. I look forward to what the future brings for me and my music!

This album is a compilation of some songs from the past and some new songs that I have written in my recent travels touring. It is my first full length album with a band. My other albums have been just me and my guitar or me and a couple other musicians adding in some leads here and there. This has been a wonderful journey for me to learn more about myself my songwriting and the incredible gift of music and the people that I’ve met along the way. I am thrilled to share the work that was done on this album with everyone! I couldn’t have done it alone!!

Light Box Music Sessions

Review By: Wes Urbaniak

"Jessica has all the gears behind her vocal engine.  She can pull the smooth slow long notes with ease right into amazing highs that is beautifully controlled power.  She has recently stepped into music performance as a singer/songwriter entertainer full time.  You’ll pick up immediately that she has the spirit, drive, and talent sitting well upon her shoulders."

"Every once in a while, a homegrown voice comes along that you just want to wrap yourself up in.
Billings-based artist Jessica Lechner doesn’t sing loud or flamboyantly. It’s her tone and warmth, and the clear, ringing way the notes finish, sometimes soaring and sometimes in little shining loops. She’s a total pro, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s a fine guitar player and that her songs are so smart."

LiVELY TiMES

Review By: Mariss McTucker

“Here Comes the Train” has kickin’ harmonica and a stutter-step beat that mimics the rolling of the rails. The words “chug-a-chug” and ”choo-choo” are repeated rhythmically to accentuate that clickety-clack sound; Lechner wails some harmonized “woo-woos” to finish it up.

The countrified title tune, “Next Train Home,” is pretty and swingy, with an infectious hook. “There’s no need to scream and shout, I heard you when you didn’t make a sound,” Lechner sings, as she pleads for a lover to stay put because she’s headed back home.

In a nutshell, Lechner has a feel for thoughtful lyrics and lovely melodies.
